The S60 5th Edition has been launched in addition with the first 5th edition device, the long-anticipated Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I had the chance to chat with Eero Kukko, who’s managing the S60 Platform Marketing, about the highlights of the new S60 5th Edition. If you have additional questions, please leave them to the comments!

You can read the S60 5th Edition and the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic press releases from S60.com.

    Hi!
Great that S60 supports touch input! One question: Does it support multi-touch or only single touch input?

Hans, currently the first S60 5th Edition device, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic supports single touch input. The touchscreen on the device is resisitive, meaning that you can use it not only with your finger, but also with a stylus.

The AAC+ 24kbps is ideal for mobile devices, the sound quality is virtually identical to the MP3 stream with a much smaller file.

All S60 3rd Edition devices support AAC+, however some PC audio players (such as iTunes) have yet to support this format.
