Podcast #13: Tommi Vilkamo, Tommi’s S60 Application Blog

I met with Tommi Vilkamo this morning for a very nice interview. For those who don’t know, he’s host of Tommi’s S60 Application Blog. We discussed his blog, S60 applications, himself, and answered a lot of great questions submitted by his readers. Enjoy! Here’s the podcast…

“Tommi Vilkamo works as a Technology and Business Analyst in a Nokia unit that develops built-in applications for Nokia’s S60 based devices. As part of his work, he follows actively what is happening in the S60 ecosystem, in the mobile industry, and in the Internet world. Since November 2005, he has been writing an S60 blog, that is probably the most widely-read Nokia blog out there.”

I just listened the first few minutes, but couldn’t bear any longer… You know, I have this mild public speaking phobia, and I’m currently trying to get rid of it. I figured out that you just have to go out there, and don’t care even if you sound like South Park’s Timmy for the first couple of times
I guess this is the price you have to pay for getting rid of your demons. Thanks Darla and Phil for pushing me into this.
You definitely sound like you needed a beer in you before talking. Don’t worry, you will loose your fear with more and more experience.
I did listen to this whole and you did pretty well Tommi. Nothing to worry about.
2 weeks ago was my first time on a radio and guys had to edit it ALOT to make it listenable :D. I’m not very good speaker.
Phil, thanks for doing this. I hope to hear more of podcasts/audio shows in future.
Tommi, I think you did an excellent job!! How do you think I feel… Phil was the first person to ever podcast me and I was nervous as heck!!
I’m just glad that the community now knows who you are and more about your position within S60. I never knew you were the man behind the out of the box s60 apps. See, you learn something new everyday!!
Well done!
Tommi, finally we can hear your voice…
I am currently listening your interview. It doesn’t sound that bad. No worry…
I just listened the first few minutes, but couldn’t bear any longer…
I never listen to my own voice either, it sounds weird
Thanks for the great interview! Loved the way you averted all the questions on “why was this or that simply function not always included” (like the one on repeating alarm) by saying “well, it will be there from N95 on”
