September 28, 2006 Podcast #09: Risto Helin, Symbian Signed Posted by Phil Schwarzmann at 01:37 PM | Categories: Today's podcast, Upcoming guests

s60_larri_vermola.jpgThis week I was joined by Risto Helin of Nokia to discuss Symbian Signed - What Symbian Signed means to the developers, what it means to the consumers, how does one get their application Symbian Signed, what processes the test houses do when they verify an application.

Getting your app Symbian Signed may seem like a lengthy, complicated and costly process...but it's the complete opposite! Listen to the podcast for the interview...

Hi Phil, you're back.
I am not sure what's wrong. I can hear audio distortion on the file, for both MP3 and AAC. Every few seconds, there is "tsk" sound. FYI, I am using N91 to play the files.

Yeah, sorry about that, that's my fault, I allowed to the guest to the mic that's built-in to his laptop. Total mistake on my part, those mics are terrible. I even normalized the audio afterwards and in .wav format it sounds okay, but once I encode it those distortions sound really bad. Hopefully people can get through it without too many problems.

Also the sound volume is too low! 100% sound volume on E70 is cannot be heard in a moving car (both laudspeaker and headset).
