February 07, 2007 Jouni introduces S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 Posted by Tommi at 10:39 AM | Categories: Nokia S60 applications

Jouni a.k.a. MRKTNGman just wrote an excellent piece about S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2. Quote:

S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 was announced today. I have been marketing responsible of the release and finally it's possible to talk publicly about this fortcoming release.

Thanks Jouni. I so much prefer your overview (with human language, pictures, commenting opportunity, etc) compared with the official (more sterile) press releases. I guess press releases and blog releases complement nicely each other.

If you have any questions, ask Jouni! He's da man.

It's good news, however i'm not liking the screens i saw so far with the UI.

Much more text and less icons. Probably due to speed issues, but making the whole feel much more boring.

Also, the new SMS/MMS integration is a bad miove at least for me. Knowing that a MMS cost the same as 3 SMS, sometimes I send long texts and when i do that i choose MMS instead of SMS. Now, I won't be able to do that, because even if my text is "5 SMS long" i won't be able to save some money unless i attach some file, just to make it a MMS....

Alexandre, I think MMS can be always forced.
