Nokia N95
- really nice Nokia ad. Makes you feel good.
Nokia N95 In the Wild
- look at the multimedia menu at 00:30-00:48. It's being developed by my team here in Nokia, and I'm watching the development of this really closely - anxiously looking forward the market feedback...
Shiny One Minute Preview: Nokia N95
- nice, but makes me wonder when regular promo/salespeople will learn to promote something else than hardware...
Nokia N95 - GPS Demo
- ooh... note to myself: must play around with this stuff soon.

It is what we all have been waiting for!
But, and it is a big but, is it too big? It looks kinda large in the last film. I can't take that phone with me all over town...or could I...

It seams to be very compact.

Posted by: Alessandro | September 28, 2006 03:27 PMOK, now you're just punishing us! I already know this is my next phone. Waiting for it is going to be interminable.
Posted by: d3 | September 28, 2006 05:50 PMI briefly tried out the Maps application on N95 yesterday, and was positively surprised how well it worked. I'd say the GPS feature will be a "killer" feature for this. Hope to see integrated GPS getting into more devices, and also combined with accelerometer.
Posted by: Jukka Eklund | September 28, 2006 06:51 PMHey Tommi, this is a little off-topic, but something I've noticed when I see new screenshots from upcoming Nokia models is that in the Music Player they never show a song playing with the Album Artwork showing-it's always a blank screen with the song name or the little icon with the 'album sleeve'. This makes people not aware that Nokia phones have this feature, similar to an iPod. Do you know why Nokia marketing doesn't show this? It seems like Nokia could capture more of the iPod audience if they would show this.
Posted by: Neil | September 28, 2006 08:16 PMThat's an excellent point, Neil. Maybe Oren could comment further.
I guess there might be many issues, one being that Nokia's S60 devices don't by default support album art. N91 was the first to have that, and now at least N75 and N95 have it.
Posted by: Jukka Eklund | September 28, 2006 08:29 PMHi Jukka,
Posted by: Neil | September 28, 2006 11:24 PMI have a 6682 (S60 Second Edition, the US version of the 6680) and the Music Player supports album art! My entire collection has album art included. And that's my point, even earlier S60 phones support it, but Nokia doesn't push it. When people see me playing my music they comment on how much it is similar to an iPod. Nokia should make these similarities known - it would certainly play up the 'coolness factor'. Thanks for your comments.
Neil: that proved your point, since I didn't know that :)
With the re-introduction of N70, N73 and N91 as "music edition" Nokia is certainly pushing music now..
Posted by: Jukka Eklund | September 29, 2006 08:41 AMThe GPS clip brought a smile to my face. I'm just back from NYC & was using my Nokia 6630 with bluetooth GPS to help me find my way.
I don't think many people attempt to use satellite navigation in Midtown Manhattan (possible just the lady in the clip & myself!) It's a shame the clip is too blurry as I'd have liked to see the kind of GPS signal she was getting (especially under the scaffolding) & FWIW Bryant Park - where she ended up - is probably the best place to get a signal 'round that part of town.
Posted by: Anthony | September 30, 2006 02:11 AMI've noticed that in the New Music Player something is missing!!!
- It doesn't show the name of the track that is playing
- It doesn't shows the "Volume bar" as N80
- It doesn't shows the next track as N80
I hope the new N95 won't be worse than old N80!!!
Posted by: PanosM | October 1, 2006 09:08 PMIt will be great if the N95 will be available on January 2007 instead of the usual Q1 2007 launch and we will only see it on April onwards.
Many people are questioning about the low capacity of the N95 battery which is 950mAh ?
Posted by: xtemujin | October 2, 2006 06:09 PMHai,Tommy!If I buy N95,can I get a GPS information in Indonesia?
Posted by: Hendry | October 27, 2006 10:25 PMHendry, N95's Maps application gets the data from network so I guess the answer is yes.
