« Mobile Search bug fixed (within a couple of hours) | Main | AAS Nokia N91 review - real world usage »
The good: Yahoo Go for Mobile is a great way to keep in touch with your Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Messenger contacts. In addition to regular Yahoo Search and mobile portal services, you can easily sync your address book, calendar, and photos with your Yahoo account. Plus, it's free. The bad: Yahoo Go for Mobile only works on Nokia Series 60 phones, and you of course need to have a Yahoo account.
The bottom line: If you're an existing Yahoo user and you have a Nokia Series 60 phone, Yahoo Go for Mobile is an excellent free addition to your mobile experience.
Yay!
Thanks Heikki for the tip - and congrats, great start for a Vappu!

Update: I forgot to mention that you can download the application for free from http://go.connect.yahoo.com/go/mobile. The list of compatible devices is here.

Thanks for the meta review Tommi! For those outside the US, there are more direct links to the Y! Go Mobile downloads, such as

http://es.mobile.yahoo.com/go/
http://fr.mobile.yahoo.com/go/

You get the idea. :-)

Posted by: Russ | April 28, 2006 06:10 PMWhile a great feat of coding, most all of us who started using it have removed it from the phone -- it kills your battery like *crazy*, less than a day of use.
It is a fine app though -- it would be nice if you could just install the frontend (no sync, no connection hoohah, no themes - just the launchpad) so that accessing Yahoo! features would be easy. It wouldn't kill your battery then, either.
My $0.02 US. :)
Posted by: rivvah | April 29, 2006 08:52 PMits cool for sure but the limitation of s60 specific and availability of certain features (e.g sync) only on US networks is annoying, with google calendar, sharing tools and service like zyb.com offering contact, calendar backup and sharing for free! have more appeal
