This month's technology update article on www.s60.com features the new Open C++ SDK plug-in, which lets S60 developers reuse even more open source and existing code in their development projects.
The Open C++ package includes a set of middleware libraries that are compatible with all S60 3rd Edition devices, and an additional set of graphics and media APIs that can be used on a selected set of S60 devices.

So, this means i can run applications based on linux OS/UNIX on my s60 device..!! pretty clever.
This is why i love Open Source Freedom to do anything you possibly can think of.

Posted by: PMP | June 30, 2008 04:33 PMIt looks more like now you could _port_ application (of course UI needs full rewrite, becouse still no Qt/GTK+ on S60, if it had one).
Qt/Embedded-on-Symbian will help with this even more (if it's done correctly, just app recompilation will be needed which is more easy)
