As I think back to the Great Pockets marketing that went along with the Nokia N95, I began to wonder what it was people actually carry in their pockets.
My pockets regularly consist of: a Nokia N95, a Nokia E61, a bluetooth headset, my wallet, and my keys. The N95/E61 combo may vary from time to time depending on what phone I am playing with, but I find I need two phones to get the functionality I need. I use the E61 primarily for email--QWERTY keyboards make a huge difference here--and the N95 for most everything else, including photo blogging and listening to podcasts downloaded with the Nokia Podcasting Application.
What's in your pocket? What things do you carry on a day-to-day basis and why? Post to the comments and lighten your load!

N95 and E61i for the same reasons as you. And then I have headset, keys and wallet.

I hate keeping my phone in my pocket, so I tend to go for a pouch to keep the phone in. Phone right now is the N73, the N95 didn't tempt me in the end. So in my pockets I have keys, loose change and my wallet.
Posted by: Jay3gsmHmmm, what's in my pockets...
Left front: Cash, cigarettes, lighter, USB drive
Right front: Phone, chap stick
Right front change pocket: Car key
Left back: Keys, receipts
Right back: Wallet
That's a lot of stuff noe that I read it over. I'll still never carry a murse! ;)

"Phone, wallet, keys" (I even say it in that order, which tells you something!)
I tend to carry my bag around, which has the extras such as USB drive, book, but they aren't necessities. The original three, in my mind, are.
It means I'm very good at remembering those three, but as soon as something else becomes a necessity instead of a commodity (e.g. ID I wouldn't normally carry around) it inevitably gets forgotten.
Phone, Wallet, Keys. What more do you need?
Posted by: Mitch | May 24, 2007 06:38 PMDoesn't this in some ways represent a failure to converge successfully? I mean this not in a mean way, but some food for thought. I used to rely exclusively on my N80ie for everything, and then I discovered that the music was better on my iPod, the internet was better on an N800 and then my converged ideal fell apart when I picked up a Motorola Q for work-related emailing.
I guess, what I'm hopeful for is a E61i-esque version of the N95, with a great camera, GPS, high-res screen and most importantly, enough RAM to do that all at the same time.

How do I check to see if I have any nasty apps on my phone?
Posted by: Nathan | May 25, 2007 05:18 PMAlso I carry an N93 that dreams of being an N95. But I tell it to be quiet because I spent all my Christmas money it. Though I do have some nifty ideas on how to win one with that "in the pocket" contest.
You know, that sounds a lot like the E90, except for the form factor. The camera's good and it has an enormous amount of free RAM (80 MB!).
Posted by: Jukka Laurila | May 25, 2007 06:29 PMI usually carry my E61 (still the best business phone in the market)and my Creative Zen Micro (hate Apple restrictions) with me. Most E61 users only see it as an email machine, but I also use it for podcasts, RSS Feeds (also offline - Mobireader rocks), GPS (Smart2go), Skype (via Fring) and many things more. Unfortunately Nokia still did not release my next "wish phone" - the Dual Slider (this is the future!) concept of the Samsung F520 combined with S60 3rd and WLAN & GPS (this is missing in the F520 feature list). I would never again buy a smartphone without WLAN... (unless providers offer global inexpensive data packs).
