Hi all! We're just a couple days from the "An evening with S60" event!! The catering has been ordered, the beer and wine has been chosen, the S60 devices are on loan, the guest list has been prepared, the music playlist has been decided on, the super-cool-ultra-mystery-prize has been obtained, and I've yet to even think about what to say during my little two minute speech.
For all of you who are attending and will have a camera (that better be all of you, E61 users excluded), and for those of you who are unable to attend the event (I'm trying my hardest to make London & Helsinki the two next cities!)...I've setup a Flickr group. Throughout the night and afterwards, please send all your photos to: http://www.flickr.com/groups/s60online/ (it's a public group). Please use the tag "Evening-NYC", but no worries if you don't, I can add it later.
One special request for all those attending - Even though I'm going to make you all wear dorky name tags as you enter the store (mwahahaha!), I was hoping that everyone could get to know each other beforehand. Send a photo of yourself to the Flickr group and include your name (and whatever else you like, like forum username etc..) in the comments section. That way, everyone will know everyone before everyone arrives! :-)
I'll be liveblogging throughout the evening (and I read that TheNokiaBlog will be too), so please visit this blog during the event! Dan will be running around with a video camera and we'll be uploading video to our YouTube channel (http://youtube.com/s60online) all night long. And I'll have my podcasting equipment with me for some impromptu interviews (Darla & Stefan are my first victims!).
Really looking forward to seeing you all there!!!!

Posted by: Darla | March 13, 2007 10:09 PMObscenely jealous! Hope it goes well for you. I will, as will many others, be watching with envy and delight.

I'll bring a pink highlighter ;-)
Posted by: Phil | March 13, 2007 10:21 PMMitch, are you in the London area?
Posted by: Phil | March 13, 2007 10:21 PMI just added my photo on the S60 Flickr Group. I think it would be a great idea if either you or I posted instructions on using the uploader tools... just in case there is actually someone out there that doesn't know how, although I really doubt that.
I think for this I'll be using Shozu instead of the built in uploader, since you can upload to both YouTube and Flickr.
Oh and one small suggestion on the tag. Maybe it should be S60 Evening-NYC.
Posted by: Darla | March 13, 2007 10:44 PMOh, I will die with envy here :-)
Posted by: Bejoy | March 13, 2007 11:31 PMAny plans for meeting at Bangalore. Loads of Nokia users there as well.
is "eveningnyc" the same as "evening-nyc" ?
Posted by: Stefan ConstantinescuPhil: I am indeed, and will definitely be watching out for any further events like this in London! (You didn't think my desire for the night's success was /entirely/ selfless did you?)
Posted by: Mitch | March 15, 2007 12:16 AMany hints on the mystery prize???

I'm willing to bet that the winner will be a very, very happy person. :-)
Posted by: Phil | March 15, 2007 02:35 PMwas a real blast to see so many nokia fans there! Thanks Dean for the great walkthrough of intellisync on your e62i!

Posted by: Dennis Ng | March 16, 2007 03:43 AMHey-since you’re a YouTuber, you might want to check this out… There’s a video company that’s recruiting YouTubers and if they like your stuff, (and they should) they will actually pay you when your video gets a hit. Here’s their link… www.flownetworkproductions.com/videorevenue.htm. It’s about time the people who make the videos get some of the money instead of it all going to YouTube!
