May 28, 2006 Free "S60 tutorial application"... Posted by at 05:13 PM | Categories: Freeware, Hints & Tips

Do you have a device equipped with a Flash Lite player? Then you could try out this application. It is the first version of a casual S60 tutorial.

This first scene takes place in a train car, and we will see how ringtones and mobile browsing can help to get new friends.

Try it out, and let me know what you thought about it... There will be a longer version later, stay tuned for that one too!

You should soon be able to download the "S60 tutorial" from http://www.s60.com/flashlite.

Have a nice day!

Wow, this is a great idea!! Can't wait to download and check it out. Who knows... maybe it will be preloaded in future S60 handsets.

It's a good idea indeed. Too bad that not many phones have flash out of the box. Not many phones compared to the many who can have it.

Maybe flash lite could be more advertised so all the 6600, 6630, 6680, n70, n90 etc users could have their copy too.
The more the merrier right?

good work.

all,

Thanks for the feedback. I have sent the .swf file to most of you by now, but just to comment with a few things:
- The "tutorial" is really casual - it is not a "user's guide", more a way to tickle the users to discover some of the features of the devices. From the very basic (ringtones) via mobile browsing to video sharing (in the next version), etc.

As for device-specific tutorials, I am sure that those will eventually appear on the phones (of course there are some devices already shipping with tutorials). Fundamentally, it really does not matter which technology the tutorials are based upon, but it is clear that Flash Lite is one of the most graphically compelling ways...

Again thanks for the nice feedback folks!

Where can I get Flash Lite player software compatible with my Nokia 6630 phone?

Hi Kevin.
You can get the Flash Lite Player in the Adobe Store and some Flash Lite contents here:
