About the S60 User Experience blog

Riitta Nieminen-Sundell

My name is Riitta Nieminen-Sundell. I was educated as a sociologist but the years in telecom business transformed me into some kind of UE generalist. I have worked closely with people from R&D, marketing, industrial design, etc.

My present work role includes tasks such as conducting market(ing) research, contributing to wikipedia project(s), and now, writing to this blog—the best for last!. All in all, I think that combining different approaches adds value to most product development projects, so I promote multidisciplinary workshops and other boundary-crossing work methods.

Jesse Maula

My name is Jesse Maula and I work as a Team Leader in Idean Research. My formal educational background is in the social sciences but I also have knowledge in several www and mobile domain techniques. I have experience with different kinds of digital service and product development projects since 1998. During these years I have sat at different sides of the table and I'm pretty familiar with the issues that have to be tackled prior to product launch.

Wendy Furst

Hi there. My name is Wendy and I, along with my team, are looking forward to acquainting you with the S60 customer. I am a User Experience Specialist and hope to provide you with some interesting information about the hows, whys, and whats of the S60 end-user. We have ongoing conversations (AKA testing) with users and we also just like to stop, look and listen wherever and whenever. So we have lots of useful information about consumers of S60 devices. I hope we can answer all of your questions (even if you don't know what it is you're asking…we, as user experience specialists, are trained to interpret!) and issues.

Risto Lähdesmäki

I'm co-founder of Idean Research and Idean Creative and I work as a CEO of Idean Creative. I have a background of over ten years as creative director and I've been involved in hundreds of design projects from traditional marketing to mobile UI & UE development and writing & lecturing. I'm passionate to be a part of Next-Big-Things and that's why I've basically contributed my life to UE business since the mid 90's. One of my tasks is to provide concrete ways to make user experience research meet user experience design in real-life. I believe every successful business is based on deep understanding of customer needs (not forgeting pure willpower and luck;), and my challenge is to provide businesses with this knowledge to be a part of inspirative design.

Experiece & Business & Design - synergy between these three topics will be my focus in this blog. I'm going to provide some UE stuff from the designer's point of view as well as discuss about possibilities of new technologies to help designers make more desirable applications and services for S60.
