Good Usability, Good Results

According to a recent Dutch survey conducted in several European countries (a sample of over 5000), Nokia users appear to have a stronger connection to the Nokia brand than other brand users (e.g. Samsung). The reason: good usability. So, it seems that Nokia’s investment in usability research, including user experience research, has payed off.

    well that has been the #1 reason for people to like nokia.. When someone tells you why they like nokia so much they (almost) always say: They have easy menus…

    You should try to improve the PIM apps of the phone. As it’s told everywhere, specially when coming from palm, the PIM of this powerfull smartphones is very very poor. Of course, usability is the easiest, but at the cost of having no features. You can add tons of options in an advanced menu, for mantaining usability, but specially, in most sides of the software you can add things very usefull, for example, you can receive a SMS with a meeting schedule for working or for some fun, for example “see you tomorrow at 5pm at central park”. So with this SMS you can add an option to grab the apointment to the calendar automatically, the same way Gmail works with Google calendar. It’s only a little work with RegExps and you have it.

    This is true user experience and usability that makes things works as easy as expected.
