About the S60 Multimedia Blog

Welcome to the S60 Multimedia Blog! We are a group of two musketeers disguised as Nokians aiming to rid the world of all evil... in our spare time we'd like to help you make the most of your S60 phone as a multimedia device.

Kevin Korpi

Hey, my name is Kevin Korpi, and I work in the Multimedia team based in Tokyo, Japan. In my daily work I am a software test engineer, this means I get to test some of the latest software on S60 devices. Not only do I test these devices at work, but I also use them in my personal life. With S60 I enjoy taking photos, listening to audio podcasts, watching video podcasts, and browsing the web. In this blog I will be posting tips and tricks as well as information on new S60 applications.

Outside from work I play video games on my Wii and Nintendo DS; tinker with GNU/Linux on my home computers; and read up on blogs and tech sites about the latest technology and web trends. If you want to contact me leave a comment on a blog post or send me an E-mail at: kevin.korpi at s60.com Note: The views expressed in my blog entries are my thoughts, and do not necessarily represent the views of Nokia.

Carol Chen

Hei kaikki, minun nimi on Carol Chen. I speak fluent Finnish, play drums in a metal band, and pilot a Learjet all around the globe... in my dreams at least.** Back in real life, I'm a Software Engineer in the Video group in S60 Multimedia. Our team is responsible for the development and productization of the Media Player UI, the video engines, down to the MDF adaptation of video decoders and post processors. I'm currently working on the video engine for S60 3rd Edition FP2. We watch movies everyday at work, it's awesome! (Well, the "movies" are actually the same short clips played over and over again, but that won't sound as impressive...)

So while I might be focusing more on video in this blog, I do have a personal vested interest in music and photography, and hopefully that'll allow me to comment on the audio and imaging aspects of S60 Multimedia as well. Presently based in Dallas, Texas (U.S.); I hail from the far east nations of Taiwan and Singapore. It's exciting working with Kevin, who's in Japan; together with Finland-based Jukka on this blog. Ah, the beauty of the Internet, making the world smaller. I guess this is an example of Nokia being an "Internet company" :)

Please feel free to leave comments and feedback!
I can also be reached at carol (insert squiggly sign) s60.com.

** I have to delete my dreams, it was confusing some people. I got several emails/comments asking if it was true I spoke fluent Finnish or fly a Learjet! Maybe if and when I fulfill my dreams I'll remove the strike...
