Off to Singapore
As I mentioned in my last post, I’m of to Singapore tomorrow to join the S60 delegation to the 3GSM Asia show. I plan to upload photos from the event to Flickr, which you’re invited to check out.

I also hope to get a chance to try some remote “videocasting” with the PocketCaster application from ComVu. This is a clever S60 application that lets you create a live video broadcast from your mobile phone. Your personal program can be viewed by anyone with a Web browser, on a PC or another mobile device. I recorded this screenshot this morning, as I was testing out the application over coffee and a bagel. |

The demo footage on ComVu’s site combining video with geotagging shows the power of mashing up the two technologies. Soon every place on earth can be watched at remotely. But where did you get the S60 software? It’s not posted on their site, is it?
Comvu is a very cool company and their technology is actually (gasp!) easy to use…fyi to all who’d like to see it firsthand, they will be one of the featured companies at Under the Radar: Mobility on Nove 16th. More info here - http://undertheradarblog.com/under-the-radar-mobility-conference/
ComVu is a Forum Nokia Pro developer - they gave me an S60 version of their software for demo purposes.
PocketCaster for S60 is posted on the ComVu site. Sign up for a free account, and then you can access it. Contact me about a complementary upgrade to a ‘Power User’ account and any questions - contact@comvu.com
Jennifer: Thanks for the update!
Just tried this Poketcaster on my N80 - this is a fantastic stuff, best software I yet see anywhere for mobile phone video. Very easy to use, live broadcast, and does more.
