Here is the updated version of Nokia Podcasting
Download: Nokia Podcasting 1.00.2
Minor updates include:
1. Default Download Limit `% Setting changed from 25% to 75%
2. Fixed ability to search within active Directories.
Oh? You didn't know you could do that? Try this:
a. Open a directory in DIRECTORIES (The folder will change color to Yellow when active)
b. If there is a folder within that directory, click to activate it.
c. Choose OPTIONS>SEARCH and type in a key word or title.
d. The Search will look within the active directories.
e. A temporary folder will appear in DIRECTORIES with the search results. This will be cleared when you exit Nokia Podcasting.
This is helpful for finding content in many subfolders of the DIRECTORIES>PODCAST DISCOVERY folder. Or if you add your own favourite OPML directory and want to only search within that rather than a wider search. (Helpful also for international directories when wanting to search in local languages.)
3. Fixed problem with installing newer version of Podcasting over an older version. (See Updating Nokia Podcasting: FAQ for more information)
NOTE: We have noticed that the automatic updating feature still needs some work before its perfect.
If you are automatically updating many large files at the same time, sometimes not all of the episodes will update. (You will see a red "!" by the shows not updated.)
To fix this, you can either manually update the shows which failed, or if your device is plugged in- try changing the default Download settings to update every hour (staring at a specified time) instead of just once a day. This should pick up any failed updates.
Thank you all for the comments in the other posts. We are reading everything and continuing to evaluate what we can do to make things better. We're already hard at work on implementing some of those issues. :-)

hi i'm still trying the update out but so fare i love it look good and a lot faster thin the old update but still wood be kick ass to do a podcast on my phone and upload it to my webpage from my phone using this app
Posted by: greg | November 30, 2006 09:26 AMI would rather this application stay focused on being the best mobile podcast download application. I really do not think it's role should be expanded until the basics are sorted.
My request: Would Nokia consider open-sourcing this application? A large number of developers in the S60 community would be interested in working on this.

Posted by: vinh | December 5, 2006 12:14 AMi am looking for a version for my 9300 communicator ? any help is appreciated.
Thanks
V.
I wish the Nokia Podcasting app gave better error messages. The red "!" is kind of meaningless. What does it mean - a networking fault, a problem parsing the XML, a broken download link?
I've also noticed that on the latest version of the app the green "spinner" does not spin, and the horizontally scrolling text does so at an eratic speed. Can you do something to speed that up?
Thanks
Posted by: Salim Fadhley | December 12, 2006 02:50 PMI have two feature requests to submit, as I have been using this app extensively since moving my music collection to Winamp from iTunes, and thus using my phone for Podcasts now.
1. Can Podcasts be automatically tagged with the genre as "Podcast." On my N73 with the Music Edition firmware, the music player app has them scattered all about and it would be easier to get to them that way.
2. For some reason, when playing back a Podcast, when I go to "options" I only have three: Set as Ringing Tone (WTF?), About, and Exit. Why do I not have the full music player options like equalizer and whatnot?
3. Also, I'd like support to be able to pick up where I left on in terms of Podcast playback. My iPod had this and I thought it was incredibly handy. That way if I'm halfway through a 45min. long Podcast and I have to reboot or something, I'm not stuck fast-forwarding.
Other than that, fantastic app! Has 100% replaced my iPod for podcasts.
Posted by: Rcadden | December 12, 2006 05:26 PMHi,
I have now updated my N80 to N80ie and after installing the podcast client i cannot edit the settings ,-(
Posted by: Oliver | December 15, 2006 05:25 PMSo going back to old version 0.91 enables me to use the settings, but Ui runs very slow when not using the standard theme ,-(
Very nice application. I would love to use it, but most of the time, it crashes my Nokia E62 while downloading data.
Any suggestion on how to solve this?
Alex

Posted by: freddy | September 12, 2007 05:11 PM1Podcasting entails audio content that is delivered via an RSS feed presenting a downloadable or streaming file (often mp3). Learn more about podcasting..
Posted by: Software development company | September 14, 2007 02:50 PM'podcasting' is actually a verb, not a suffix. but i agree that nokia's naming is disingenuous.

Posted by: kurtdanieli tried to do this manually but could not complete this successful. Is there any ways for an automatic updation?
Posted by: Legislation law system | November 28, 2007 03:24 PMBUG: Anytime you connect the USB cable for data transfer and the app is running or runs due to auto-update scheduling, the app will switch the 'Save To' setting to Phone Memory and leave it there.
You can imagine the problems this causes since podcasts are usually very large files. Phone memory fills up pretty fast.
Personally, I just don't think the app should switch automatically.
Posted by: doug | February 3, 2008 08:23 AMI use Podcasting all the time. However there are 2 main things that really annoy me!
1) The "phone memory" vs "memory card" bug is a real problem. I have my settings set to "memory card", but when you use USB for data transfer, it switches back to "phone memory". This is a problem, because then my auto-updates don't happen. I wake up to "Error: not enough memory" in the morning.
Which brings me to...
2) What is the point of auto-update if you have to remember to have the application open? I might as well just do it manually.
3) Please, oh please, why can't Podcasting automatically disconnect WiFi after it's done updating podcasts? The web browser can disconnect when its done... why can't Podcasting? This is really annoying because of the battery issue.
Otherwise, I love Podcasting even if I have to deal with these minor issues. Keep up the good work! But please fix these bugs!
Posted by: Neil | February 24, 2008 04:32 PMThe post above has explained why podcasting sometimes switches the download location from memory card to phone memory. This was driving me crazy with downloads failing due to full phone memory and having to laborious go through, work out which ones are on the phone memory, delete them and re-download to memory card.
This is #1 bug with podcasting at the moment and stops a good application being excellent.
The #2 bug, also as noted above, is that failure to disconnect from wi-fi once finished.
