Check the news:

New features:

Chat - communicate with your friends
Presence - share your status
New languages: Finnish, French, German, Italian and Spanish

Other improvements:

Python for S60 version 1.4.1
Improved snapshot camera - take better advantage of device camera capabilities
General stability improvements
WebDAV performance improvements

Read on for more details about the changes.

Web chat. Visitors in your site can now initiate a chat with you. You can have multiple chat windows open with different people and one chat window can also serve as a "group chat". I've used this quite a bit lately and it's really a nice addition. Can be a little obtrusive too :)

Presence. If you choose to do so you can share your presence information in your site. There will be an indicator on right top corner of your site showing battery status, local time, profile and a meeting icon if you are in a meeting. There is also a separate Presence button in left-side navigation.

Localization. You can now choose another language for your site (Finnish, French, German, Italian or Spanish) and also the S60 application will have one those languages based on your phone settings.

New Python version. This is very much an "under the hood" thing but a major step since this contains some new features and fixes. One particularly interesting feature is the positioning module you can use to access the GPS capabilities on the phone. I'll write more about this later with examples.

Improved snapshot camera. This is our native camera application. It will now autofocus correctly, you can preview the picture before sending and also use the front-facing camera if it's available.

General stability improvements. Pretty self-explanatory :) Let's just say that if you had problems with the first version many of them should have gone away. If not, let us know.

WebDAV improvements. WebDAV (ie. Web Folders as it's called in Windows) feature was not very usable in some ways in 1.0 version, should be more usable now. I'll write more about this later also.

Mymobilesite.net updated. We have added a News section (with RSS feed) and links to this blog and discussions. Also some other tweaks here and there - hopefully it's easy to use!

Update SIS package. For those who have already installed Mobile Web Server update package will just update the application and keep all the content etc. intact. Full install will overwrite everything with default stuff just as before.

Now go, download and take into use! Then come back and share your feedback here.

Update: having problems installing? See my separate post.

Great news Jukka!! Quick question before I update. Will the new version overwrite the existing without me losing my original content and settings?

Off-topic: but I just love whoever design those app icons.

On-topic: yay! upgrade!

Darla, all: the update package won't overwrite any content but full install will. Though if you have added stuff like CSS or static html pages always better to back those up before update.

I guess this needs to be stated more explicitly..

Ciao Jukka,

Jukka -

In the camera, can there be an option to use the front-facing camera? I'm receiving a desktop stand for my N95 soon and it would be really handy to just setup the server so random people can snap pics of me, but to also be able to see my screen. Also, this would give the opportunity to expand that into a live webcam option.

Hola he probado la versión en español con un nokia E61 , al intentar ver los contactos me da un error interno, ¿le ha pasado a alguien?

Un Saludo

@Ricky: Snapshot request in 1.1 supports front facing secondary camera so that it's easier to take picture of yourself. Also we implemented preview so that you will get a chance to look what you are about to send or try again if the result wasn't good enough.

Webcam can only take pictures using primary camera. This we thought would be safer option to prevent accidential exposure of your surroundings in unwanted situations.

@Ricky, diego: We'll think about the barcodes :)

Diego, could you be more specific? Have you checked our developer documentation at http://forum.nokia.com/mws for example this one:

@aiglesias: Please write in English here, we don't talk Spanish, sorry.

Thx Jukka, may be Im not so clear, so I try to say that, installing MWS you have Python also installed, but I have not the normal Python app with icon to access to Python and run some sripts. So I ask how to have MWS and Python, with the oportunity to run sripts not related to MWS.
