So is this limited to new devices only?

I have an E61 which I love. It is a near-perfect device for me, except for some rough edges here and there -- of which Java support is one. Better Java support (especially for Gmail and other mainstream J2ME apps) would be wonderful.

My company has decided to start developing a certain application on Java ME for S60, because native SymbianOS/S60 development is simply too difficult, error-prone, and frustrating. Also, it has already been developed for the BlackBerry in Java ME (+ BlackBerry's own UI classes, so the UI code still has to be ported).

Hello,

Could somebody throw some light on how it was done?

Is this equivalent to visiting m.youtube.com and playing the availablevideos?

In other words, the whole youtube collection is available in non-flash video format too?

p.s.1.: emTube is pretty fantastic still.
p.s.2.: any chance that Flash lite 3 would become available on FP0 devices. The demo version run fine on my E70...

YouTube client also works in other S60 phones, like E90. Try direct download from:
http://www.google.com/m/download/youtube/apps/v1.0.1/en/minitube-101-n60_en.jar

Hamed, It's hard to tell what is the issue. Nokia 3230 supports Java MIDP applications. Have you tried to install applications for which the application vendor claims to work OK in your device. Not all Java applications work in all devices because devices have different features and functionality and some applications may use these special features.

I understand that implementing eSWT as an updateable plugin was only possible due to change of VM (hint hint, i like the new one better - i'm from FN); but no harm in asking: any backporting to 3.0 or 3.1 in sight?
