Build frenzy for v2.0M1 release
![]()
We are closing in on the release of Carbide.c++ v2.0M1 to begin public testing. As those of you in software development know this is an exciting, exhausting, and terrifying time as everyone involved works to make sure that the first public revealing of a new product release goes smoothly.
We have several exciting improvements for you to delve into, not the least of which is our update of Carbide to use the latest Eclipse 3.4 and CDT 5.0 Ganymede releases for Carbide.c++ 2.0. Lots of basic platform and C/C++ improvements should make for an exciting release.
Internally, the Austin team has completed a few Agile sprints to reach this point and so far are making excellent headway on adding features, like the SIS/SISX patch downloading, and the Move to Line program counter improvement, as well as fixing bugs for everyone. Expect more milestone releases in the future with some features not yet ready for prime time. More information will follow soon.
Those of you on the current beta mailing list will soon receive an email that details how you can add yourself to the new Google Carbide Beta group for Carbide.c++ v2.0. If you are interested in helping us make Carbide.c++ even better for everyone then I urge you to sign up asap.
As we did during the 1.3 beta cycle we’ll be using the Carbide Bugzilla site for all bug reports and enhancement requests. Note, we still have a lot of features to add before release but we evaluate every bug report as they come in, so the sooner we get it the more likely we’ll have time to fix it. Responding to our comments or requests for additional information quickly makes the entire process effortless for all.
So, watch for your email beta invites soon, sign-up, and enjoy the new Carbide.c++ release we have planned for you.
