January 08, 2008 Greetings from Helsinki Posted by Daniel Shugrue at 04:08 PM | Categories: Personal

Spent last week in Helsinki, planning for the S60 Ambassador rollout this Spring. I have some notes on our proceedings and am in the process of putting them into PowerPoint decks, as nothing gets done in Nokia unless it is first documented in a PowerPoint deck.

Of course, all work and no play makes Helsinki a very dull place, and I did manage to grab a beer with a co-worker on Friday. Grand opening of a German-Finnish beerhouse downtown...they featured very large beer mugs, here's a shot, taken with an N82, or yours truly enjoying a *liter* sized beer:

I figured at least Stefan and Ricky would be proud :-)

Now that is a whole lot of beer, digg the hair too. Shame I wasn't in Finland, stuck in Vegas for CES. Is the Ambassador program opening outside of the USA?

Yes, the ambassador quesstion is a good one - please get back in contact with me directly, Daniel! I´m living in germany and there would be a HUGE interest in the ambassador programm over here, i can ensure you..

To add something up to your "beer posting". One - funny - app you should consider is pyPiWo , enjoy your free beer wherever you want:)

Yes -- the S60 Ambassador program will live on, with a bigger and better landing page, database, and integration with the rest of S60.com

We hope to be "live" on April 1st.

One caveat, tho: Ambassador campaigns will still be limited to some extent by the roll out of S60 based products and services world wide. And by resources within our team. So I can't say today, for example, whether or not we'll have a program in Germany come Spring. But rest assured that your voice has been heard and I will do my best to make it happen!

Glad you like the hair. My wife tells me its stylish, but I'm beginning to wonder if the joke is on me.

Yes -- the S60 Ambassador program will live on, bigger and better, with room for all our European and Asian friends, in 2008.

Watch this space for details!

Dan, somehow I completely missed this post. I think I was having difficulties with the feed for a short time. I was even called out on it, and am just now commenting. I'm so ashamed.

I am indeed very proud, that is for sure a manly sized brewsky.
