It’s been a while since I blogged here. If you remember I started way back in S60 Multimedia blog (which seems to be gone from the server, hope that’s a mistake), that was a lot of fun. Then we had the Mobile Web Server activity and a new blog. Since the start of this year I haven’t been part of that activity anymore, but following closely. Things might seem a bit silent now, but you never know what’s bubbling under (well I know, but can’t tell yet). Speaking of MWS please take a look on the latest news post and take action, it will be much appreciated!

My current activities are with Nseries where I manage some of the key experiences for future devices. Hope to tell you more about those later. Keep an eye on the Nseries blog and Maemo, and of course all of the other Nokia blogs as well. You can find me on Facebook, Twitter etc. when you want to be in touch.

Now it’s time for that very last post. As most of you know, the S60 Ambassador program and site are closing end of the month along with the rest of S60.com.

This has been a fascinating journey that all of us here at S60 have both enjoyed and cherished. The Ambassador program alone had more than 21 thousand fans who signed up - submitting nearly 6 thousand reports in little less than a year and 9 fun campaigns. We can all be proud of what we’ve achieved together.

Before we say goodbye, we’d like to tip our hats to the following Ambassadors who’ve made it to the all-time, all-star list:

The ‘Always S60′ campaign finally ended this past weekend. After nearly a year of being the only campaign that was always open and always on, there’s a certain air of inevitability to this closure. It’s been a pleasant surprise to us here in the S60 Ambassador team that, despite not having much by way of rewards or tourneys, participation in the Always S60 campaign was steady and brisk. It ended proudly too - as the campaign with the highest participation and highest number of reports ever. We believe this proves nicely that the S60 Ambassador program has always been about passion, dedication, and genuine desire to spread the word to friends, family, and even strangers - with rewards just making the campaigns more fun.

We’d like to tip our hats to the thousands of Ambassadors that participated in making the ‘Always S60′ campaign a success.

As most of you know, the S60 Ambassador program is on its final leg. Next week I’ll be posting top-rankings for ALL campaigns combined. That will likely be our last post. Until then, take care out there.

The N-Gage: Level 2 campaign closed over the weekend and we had a ton of reports come in. It was the most competition we’ve ever had in a campaign. Guess the prizes were too good to let go without a battle. The last of the reports were read, rated and approved by 06.30 hrs GMT on May 12. And we tallied up the final-rankings right after.

Yup, that’s a hundred prizes up for grabs this time around. So don’t forget to get those reports in before the campaign closes on May 10. This ain’t like the first N-Gage campaign - competition has been stronger than ever and we seriously don’t think 1 or 2 or 3 reports are going to be enough to make the Top 100 this time. So get your reports in quick and check here for results sometime next week. We’ll post as soon as we’ve moderated them all and have final rankings ready.

What does this mean in practise for you? It means that the current ‘N-Gage: Level 2′ and ‘Always S60′ campaigns will be our last. The N-Gage campaign will end on May 10 (as scheduled) and we’ll be closing the ‘Always S60′ campaign a week later on May 17. We’ll continue our weekly competitions as planned and we’ll be here making posts until the end of May. It also means you cannot register to become an Ambassador any more. You’ll continue to be able to login into the Ambassador site to submit reports (until May 17) and read reports (until June 30). And Mike & I will continue to read your emails and resolve issues until the end of June.

It’s been hardly a year since the Ambassador site launched - and what a journey it has been! Over 21 thousand Ambassadors signed up, we ran 9 campaigns, and heard from you all via nearly 6000 personal accounts you’ve submitted. Such colorful reports they have been too! We can’t thank you enough for all that passion, effort and enthusiasm you have bestowed upon us. Rest assured that every one of those reports have been personally read and responded to by one of us here on the Ambassador team. The insights gained from them have been valuable and they will continue to be used as valuable input in our ongoing product and service development efforts.

Like Saara says in her post, check out some of the other Nokia forums that welcome participation from fans and users alike: N-Gage Arena, Nokia Beta Labs, Nokia Pilots, Nokia Conversations, etc. And of course, for the hardcore OS fans - there’s the Symbian Foundation site that’s ramping up and looking to you for input.

As difficult as this moment is, do take a moment to be proud of yourself and the many contributions you have made to spreading the S60 message and helping us learn. To hear from you every day has been a joy. So, chin up!

As a natural step within the Symbian OS and S60 software transition into a unified platform and Symbian Foundation web site development process, the S60.com web site will be closed down gradually by the end of June 2009. Registration to S60.com was closed today, as well as the registration to the Ambassador program. You can read more about the Ambassador program from Raj’s post.

The S60 Blogs will follow the process accordingly. The site will continue to run normally until the end of June, when we’ll stop creating new content and close commenting. However, the content will continue to be available at http://blogs.s60.com after June 30 as well.

Even though this is not a farewell post, we here at the S60 team would like to thank everyone who have provided their input for S60 community and taken part in the discussions on the S60 Blogs during the past years. I’d also personally want to acknowledge the great work that Phil has done with the blogs in the past, that made it easy for me to continue. Also, a very special thanks to everyone who have blogged here over the years.

Well, ladies and gentleman, we have a new N-Gage tourney champ. Ambassador GenSoft beat out Mike and the other players by winning the most games. 5 games played - 5 games won. Gensoft gets the crown and bragging rights.
