Files on Ovi Report of the Week: Christmas saved!
We’ve all been there, you want to show your friends and family something, but forgot to bring that picture or movie with you. This is one of the classic use cases for Files on Ovi that helps sell the idea of why this service is so useful. Check out this report from 3xistenz:
On christmas night, me and my wife went over to our relative’s home for a christmas party. All our cousins and nephews were there as well.
We were all talking about our wedding and honeymoon and my wife wanted to show them our photos during the wedding and honeymoon. I hook up my N95 to their TV via the TV-output cable (I always keep all my card reader, cables and other stuff in a small little bag wherever I go). But hang on, where is the rest of the photos we took on our digital camera? O.. oh.. I don’t think I kept it in my phone and I forgotten to upload it to my share on OVI.. big mistake, my wife gave me that dreadful “You are dead” stare.
I replied her stare with a “Rest assured! Darling! Files on OVI on the rescue!” look. I open up my browser, log into my Files on OVI account; Voila! the photos are all in my computer back at our home. I downloaded them down and begin showing them all the photos. All these were done while my N95 still connected to the TV. Obviously everyone there were amazed and wanted to know how to do it. Of course I told them about my part time as S60 Ambassador program and also various Nokia software that they can use IF they have a Nokia S60 phone.
Some of our cousins started to pinch their boyfriend and hubby to give them a Nokia as present for next year’s Valentine, they can’t wait for the next Christmas.
Obviously, my wife gave me the “Lucky you! You’re off the hook!” look. Phew….
Merry Christmas Files on OVI!
The feedback I got
My cousins were asking why don’t Files on OVI integrate with Share on OVI so that we can directly upload the photos from our Files connected PC to our Share on OVI account. That would be wonderful idea.
Thanks for sharing!
Oh and if you haven’t already seen this video going around the net of this kid getting a Wii for Christmas, check it out. Hilarious. Warning: Turn your volume down, wayyy down. You’ve been warned.

Hey where’s the link to the video?
Put it in there, my mistake!
I’d love to see that video! heheh
Finally a great story.
