Podcast #38: Petteri Koponen and Joe Walnes, Google Picasa Web Albums for S60

This week I was joined by Petteri Koponen and Joe Walnes from Google. They had some very exciting S60 related news to share about Google’s Picasa Web Albums for S60. Sorry by the way for the audio quality not being optimal at times. We did this podcast using Skype since me and Petteri were in Finland and Joe in London. Hope you enjoy the podcast!

Petteri Koponen is a co-founder of four companies, who joined Google in 2007 after the acquisition of the micro-blogging company Jaiku. At Google, one of his favorite tasks is to look over Picasa Web Albums for mobile, a mobile-optimized AJAX application for browsing online photos.
Petteri has worked with mobile products for the last ten years. During this time, his duties have varied from selling service operator platforms in the Middle East to ramping up the R&D and operations of a pan-European mobile virtual network operator. He loves the diversity of mobile technologies and endless creativity of software engineers.
Joe Walnes is a software engineer for Google in London. For the past 12 years of his career, Joe has had a strong focus on building fast and intuitive web-applications - that’s what he loves. In the last couple of years, he’s turned his attention to mobile web-applications.
At Google, Joe leads the Picasa Web Albums for mobile team, where he’s been investigating better ways to share photos on your phone. Outside of this, Joe is actively involved in the open source community. Search the web to find out more…

Your link to Picasa Web Albums is bad… It’s missing the “b” on picasaweb
Thanks for letting me know. It’s fixed now!
Something is really wrong with the feeds when accessing them with Nokia Podcasting. The first messages listed are 600 days old, the newest ones have no date and are somewhere at the end of the list…
I’m checking the feed right now and try to fix the problem with the podcasting app. Will let you know when it works again.
Whew…I thought I was the only one who is bothered by that problem with the feed!!
Hi guys! What version of the podcasting app are you using? I’m using the version 1.00.3 and that seems to work fine. I’ll try to fix the feed a bit to see if it helps.
