Help Wanted

Consumed by S60 - February 6th, 2008 - Written by Daniel Shugrue

The Ambassador program continues to ramp up. We are looking to hire help on a contract (hourly) basis. This would be a 3 month contract, renewable up to one year, with the possibility of joining Nokia at the end of the term. See below for the job description. Send resume and cover letter to me (Danieldotshugrue at Nokiadotcom) and cc HRjobsdotboston at nokiadotcom

Communications Specialist – Tech Leader Engagement team

Position Description:
S60 software leads the smartphone market with over 50% market share. Strong smartphone market growth and evolving competition calls for deeper collaboration with existing and potential S60 consumers.

Almost all S60 device owners are “involved” consumers. Involved consumers strongly influence their friend’s, family’s, and colleague’s purchase behavior. Our target is to increase their awareness of and preference for S60-based devices, applications, and services. We will engage this segment through online services (S60.com, blogs.s60.com) and physical events (“Evening with S60”). Each touch point will provide early access to interesting new, evolving mobile technologies and news, the opportunity to give feedback to Nokia other S60 licensees, engage them to share know-how, opinions and experiences and provide a “career” as S60 enthusiasts from “interested member” to “S60 Ambassador”.

The person we are seeking will communicate directly with S60 Ambassadors during S60 Ambassador Campaigns. Through frequent e-mail and web-based correspondence, the candidate will engage up to 1000 Ambassadors on a one-to-one basis. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, passionate, and able to communicate and connect with large numbers of people on a consistent basis.

The activities and deliverables will include:

• Frequent e-mail correspondence with Ambassadors (as many as 200 e-mails per day)
• Occasional “broadcast” messages for Ambassadors
• Contribution to strategic messages for new Ambassador recruitment

Preferred location: US/Boston

Requirements:
• Experience in communications
• Proven track record and understanding of web 2.0 as a marketing tool
• Understanding of mobile software marketing and competition

Why not Germany??? I feel sad !! why only the US and UK ?? It give also S60 frends in Europa !!

Nokiaus, not exactly sure what you are asking but rest assured that the job could be done from anywhere, and the campaigns will be international. So Germany will be represented!
PhoneBoy, we need you where you are :-)
Incidentally I did make one change to the post, we now believe it makes sense to break up the role into 3 month increments. So we’ll be offering 3 month contracts. Budgets being what they are it is also only fair to “promise” this as far out as 3 months.

Thanks to all who applied. We will be making a decision by March 1.
