S60 hint & tip videos - part II
Last month we uploaded three S60 hints & tips videos on multitasking, downloading apps, and browsing the web with S60 devices. Here’s three new videos on our YouTube channel! What do you think?
Copy paste
Changing the look & feel
Organizing shortcuts & applications

Watched the copy(paste thing and (all though it’s “clever” is the way you show different functionalities of the phone) I thought it was silly.
1. You have a N95 there. You don’t need to use the very clumsy way it shows how to fill in the web forms. It has a password wizard and auto fill-in of web forms!
2. All S60 phones do not have the “edit” key,you should have explained how the copy/paste is done when it’s missing.
Sorry to be a bit harsh..:). I watch the other two later.
The “Edit” key on my 6120c is holding down the #.
Your points are valid, Henrikki!
We decided not to use the auto-complete in the video because it has been available on S60 devices only from 3rd edition FP1 onwards. I believe the N95 was the first device to have this feature. With this video we tried to serve as many S60 users as possible. But you’re right it should have been explained there.
And yes, the newest devices from Nokia & Samsung do not have the edit key, but the hash key should be used instead, like Mariusz said. That should have been mentioned too. Seems like we’re not perfect
Saara, nobody is perfect, and the videos are not bad at all! I did like the way you a lot of features in the same video, which actually started with something else.
I just smiled a bit how it was done. Very simple task (even without the auto fill-in) was made to look a bit too complex. And the e-mail address wasn’t even that long..:). I half expect it to a feature in FSJ soon:
“Here is a video showing how you can fill in a simple email address in an easy 30 step sequence done the Nokia way. I mean, words fail me..”
I think the two other videos were ok too. With the last one it occurred to me though that some some visual pointing could be beneficial. Like with finger, first showing what shortcuts are being referred to with voice and which folders are going to be moved where.
I have one of these. They’re simply awesome.
thanks.
