Wishlist for sending feature requests to Nokia

Nokia S60 applications - August 15th, 2007 - Written by Tommi Vilkamo

Rock on. We have now two wish lists:
1. Application Wishlist - for 3rd party applications
2. Feature Wishlist - for actual S60 platform and built-in apps

I’m curiously waiting to see how the digg-style voting works. If it works well, the Feature Wishlist could end up as the most important channel for users to send feature requests to Nokia. Until now, the problem has been how to filter good suggestions from the massive pile of dorky ones.

From now on, please send your improvement wishes to the Feature Wishlist instead of my (or some other S60 blogger’s) email inbox. That way, it has much better chances to end up in the actual Nokia offering.

Now, let’s go and make it work.

Phil has more details.

    Great! I hope this works!
I’ve spend my valuable time to contact Nokia a few times using their online contact forms but never got a reply.

Cool. Hopefully this will convince Nokia that S60 3rd Ed. users want FP1 and 2 =P

(or at least animated wallpaper/screensaver support, since that’s what I want most) XD

    Moika!

Great news! Especially if it results in Nokia listening more effectivelly. I remember, that I have suggested also something like this - although I suggested a forum about development with feedback - but now I have some concerns about the expected result:

The reason for worry is that a few strong and popular messages have gone through loud and clear from the community - which cannot be called “crap” - and have been ignored till now!

    E.g.:
    1. FP1 for S60 v3.0 and continous operating system upgrades by firmware upgrades. A hint: MS is giving away operating system upgrades free of charge for mobile devices. My little brother showed me a few days ago on his new MS mobile device. (more about his decision making when shopping for a smart phone later…)

    2. Firmware Independent browser upgrades to support latest features regularly.

These messages got huge coverage by you and other blogers and the relevant response has been… None or slight.

So what will be different when the same topics rise there?

Can you encourage us a bit that it will be better there?

    Thanks and best regards!
    Aron
