Does Nokia systematically process the wishes in S60 application wishlist?

Nokia S60 applications - May 16th, 2007 - Written by Tommi Vilkamo

Zach, the writer of Symbian in Motion, asks Does Anyone Check the Wishlist?

Phil already replied to most of Zach’s questions, but he missed the big and hairy one: does Nokia systematically process the wishes? Or at least the most popular wishes, related to the built-in apps?

To be honest, I don’t know. I proposed this idea to one cross-functional Nokia internal working group, and the chairman liked the idea. But then, unfortunately, I got too busy to join these workshops, and I’m not sure if this initiative is proceeding or not. If you have better (public) info, please comment: is somebody from Nokia systematically processing the wishes?

As a side note, sorry for being quite inactive in the blog world lately. Been really busy working on a big assignment, to be delivered by the end of this month. Hope to have more mental bandwith for blogging from June onwards.

It’d be quite helpful to have an RSS feed on that page as well.

In one of Phil’s responses in the comments on my post (linked above by Tommi) Phil does confirm that RSS feeds are included in their plans for the next phase of the wishlist. :)

I’d really like to see Nokia work through the Application Wishlist - the S60 based rewrite for the Sensor application has a top vote ! :)

RSS feeds would be good, and most importantly notifications if someone’s answered your wish.

The last time I tried to use it I got frustrated at the limit on how much text you can enter in the description box. I had some quite long but very handy tips to share!

Now as S60 say they’re so busy, I just decided to help out and add a load of tips to wishes. But then: “Thank you for your idea! To keep a tight lid on spamming, we only accept 5 wishes per hour. Please resubmit your wish a bit later.”

    Pah!

Oh, and finally, having to agree to a Legal Disclaimer popup when clicking external links is very annoying. Imagine if every website did that! Why not just have some text above the links like on the BBC News site: “The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites”. And the javascript:void() for the disclaimer means I can’t use my browser’s middle click button to open the page in the background.
