Anyone willing to loan me a Nokia N95?
I thought I was doing just fine with my N73, but I’m increasingly starting to miss WiFi, as I need to test the latest wonderful - but data hungry - S60 applications. The latest one was pitched by Florian:

LazyWeb request: dear Nokia proto-overlords and word-of-mouth marketers: would you have an extra N95 to loan me? And if I’m a really nice boy, would you be willing to loan me (and other S60 bloggers) test units of our latest gadgets in the future?
I find it odd that you (and other Nokia employees) have such a hard time getting new devices. Especially as out there and vocal as you are.
I’ve always imagined that working at Nokia, you’d have access to this HUGE closet, stacked to the ceiling with boxes of all Nokia’s past devices, as well as a “Proto” section, where you could stop in and just pick up whatever you wanted.
I’ve learned that’s not the case. In fact, I have a friend who is a business analyst in the Irving campus, and he said it’s like pulling teeth to get a new phone, lol. I suppose there’s certain positions that are more likely to get new devices, but still.

Have to join Ricky in his surprise! But while you are shouting out to those gods in charge of spreading the “to-be-reviewed-and-results-to-be-shared-with-nokia-N95-loving-world” N95 devices… sign me up to that list please!

Wasn’t it just this week that a bunch of mobile-industry bloggers got their N95 units for review? I guess that doesn’t apply to Nokia employees.

Interesting… I thought as “external” bloggers, you can get access to new devices (and even prototypes). Unfortunately, I don’t have N95 either.
The situation is pretty lame..
If those marketets etc. have not hurried you one already, I can get you one for sure.
At least in Nokia Ireland & UK the mobile operators and the independent retailers give much much better discounts on mobile devices, due to their bulk purchasing.
