General Podcasting - November 9th, 2006 - Written by steven.stewart

We’ve already gotten some fantastic responses for the Nokia Podcasting feature “wish list” (Bookmarking, or remembering position last listened to, seems to be the hands down winner for most requested feature). Please keep the ideas and recommendations coming.

As many of you know, Nokia Podcasting features default directories to help users quickly find recommended content to help discover great audio and video podcasts. (One of my favourite new default directories is “International”, which highlights engaging podcasts from around the world in various local languages.)

So what are your favourite podcasts are why do you like them?
In the Comments section below, tell us your top 3 favourite podcasts (or Podcast Directories) which you think should be added.

Please list:
1. Name of Podcast
2. URL of RSS feed
3. Format (Audio or Video)
4. Why you think its a great podcast

Shameless self-promotion is acceptable.

We are specifically looking for content that would be immediately accessable to a general international audience for an excellent first time podcasting experience.

(Note: excessive vulgarity is not usually encouraged for featured podcasts.)

    4. Why you think its a great podcast: This is a great podcast and it also shows what can be done with an S60 device, in this case the N90. One of the very first videopodcasts created exclusively with a mobile phone. All the edits and everything done on the phone.

A great example of how artists and bands are sharing “the making of”, backstage material etc directly with the fans.

This is also the only place where one can hear the unreleased new tracks by Kemopetrol. And of course it all looks and sounds great in the Nokia podcasting app;-)

    4. It’s a Harry Potter fan-related podcast with humour, insight and wild theories concerning newest title “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. The five hosts have a great time together, and you get to hear the newest and best songs from “Wizard Rock” bands (musicians who write songs exclusively based off of situations from the Harry Potter novels. It sounds like a very obscure genre, but it’s gone viral by way of Myspace and Bebo).

Podcasting directories allow visitors to find podcasts. A directory will be categorized either alphabetically or by topics. Not all directories are the same. Some directories focus solely on certain themes. For instance, MusicOnlyPodcasts.com, is a directory only for music, while Podseek.net, is a general directory that covers all themes.
